Being a creative photographer with vision
Sometimes just taking a good picture is not good enough. Sometimes you need the vision to see potential in something that isn't there when you take the shot. It's a vision in what I call my minds eye. True professional photographers can take a good/great image. An artistic photographer can look at the image they are taking and see something very different, evolving the image into a master piece to the delight of their clients. The following images are examples of combining skill, art and the eye.
Lets look at this image from a shoot with Adrienne. As you can see cool idea but the shooting location was a mess as far as the background goes. The editing process was a nightmare but the resulting image was worth all the tedious work involved.
The end result looks like this. I decided to create a dark background and felt this would show off the model and lions while not being distracting. The finished image is classy, elegant, rich in color and most importantly...people love to look at it. After all a good photo is just that but one people love to look at is much more interesting and exciting. That doesn't mean as a photographer you have to take a picture that requires a lot of editing but then again we aren't talking about that at this moment. We are talking about seeing something different than what you actually see when looking through the view finder and planning while you take to shot so you can create that vision.
Lets look at the next image. LOL, I think I took 10 shots of this looking to get just what I wanted for the finished image. Here is a good example of having a vision and taking the shots according to what you need to get what you see in your "minds eye".
Was it worth taking 10 shots to get this as the finished image? :) My clients sure think so and so do I. This is just one reason I always shoot weddings with a 2nd shooter. It gives me the freedom to get the shots I need to make images like this. With out having the vision of what I wanted the completed image to look like my bride and groom would not have this amazing image.
These are just 2 examples of many you will see on my web site www.2daysphotos.com and here on my blog. Try looking at things differently the next time you pick up a camera or view a photographers work. If we don't look at things differently we miss out on so much potential and the world would be a boring place.
When you look to hire a photographer really look at their work and see how they see.

And our WINNER is........
YAY! We have our first Winner from our Essence of a Woman Contest!
It was very exciting to call Lisa Menz to tell her she was our winner. Lisa was very excited too and as it turns out she is the Inn Keeper of the Fox and Hound Bed and Breakfast in New Hope PA! The fox and Hound is an 1850's stone manor bed and breakfast, with fireplaces, jacuzzis, and king-sized beds. AAA- 3 Diamond/Mobile Travel Guide rated. We will most likely plan to hold her photography session at the Inn and take advantage of all the beautiful settings. One idea we have is to get a few images while all the holiday decorations are still up so we should be shooting soon. Look for an update in a few weeks.
Ladies, in the mean time.....This is the perfect time to schedule a Valentines Day gift session :) It is a very popular gift to do a tasteful flirty little sexy session. We customize the packages to meet your needs and budget, most women include a 12 month calendar (which can start on any month of the year), 5 x5 book and set of fold out brag books. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas for sessions.
Call us to discus your photography needs and Visit our NEW WEB Site www.2daysphotos.com
